    02What we found

What we found on 53 clinic websites

We read the public pages of 53 clinic websites: dental, physio, vet, GP and aesthetic, plus one that fits none of those. Across all 53, three problems led the list. Each kind of clinic also has its own page, linked below.

Page titles that do not say where or what

40 of 53 clinic websites we checked have page titles that do not say the area or the treatment, so a nearby patient cannot tell what the page is.

Why it costs enquiries. It is the first line a searcher reads in the results. Across every kind of clinic, a name alone gives them no reason to choose that page.

The fix. Write each key page title as the service, then the area, then the clinic name.

No short summary under the link

36 of 53 clinic websites we checked have pages with no short summary for Google to show under the link (no meta description).

Why it costs enquiries. Google shows this text under your link. When it is missing, a patient has only the title to go on.

The fix. Give every key page its own short summary, and do not copy one summary across pages.

A form with no privacy notice

27 of 53 clinic websites we checked have an enquiry or booking form with no privacy notice we could find on the pages we read. Some may have one on a page we did not read.

Why it costs enquiries. Enquiry forms collect personal details, and sometimes a health concern. A visible notice tells the person what happens to them.

The fix. Link one clear privacy notice from every form, on a page patients can reach.

Each count is the number of our first-look reports on clinic websites that list the problem. It is not a full audit of any one site.
